The Vermont State winning author has been chosen:

Kate DiCamillo for The Tale of Despereaux

Kate DiCamillo is unable to attend the DCF award ceremony.
However, those student who were chosen to attend enjoyed a luncheon at the Chamberlin School Library on May 17, 2005 with Mrs. Flickinger and Mrs. Barney!  Pizza, ice cream, and new books for all!

Book Award Gathering
April 12, 2005

Chamberlin's fourth and fifth grade students who read five or more of the twenty DCF nominee books were invited to a special gathering to discuss and vote for their favorite DCF book.
The results are in:  

Twenty Chamberlin students read more than five DCF nominee books this year!
After their discussion of the books, most of the twenty students chose The Tale of Despereaux, by Kate DiCamillo as their favorite DCF book.
