Chamberlin's Reading  Olympics
HOME

On Monday, January 30, all Chamberlin students began a two-week long reading challenge entitled “Go For the Gold” after the February Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.  The goal of this program was to reinforce the importance of reading during our “I Love to Read” month and create enthusiasm about reading.  Each student in every class participated in this two-week Reading Olympics.  Every grade level  represented a different country participating in the Olympics. Barbara Cochran, Vermont’s Olympic Gold Medal Winner spoke to our students at a very special assembly on Monday, January 30, 2006.

At the conclusion of the “Go For the Gold” Reading Challenge, we awarded bronze, silver, and gold medals to students who qualified.  We congratulated our readers efforts during a school wide closing assembly with each countries’ national anthem and flag on Monday, February 20, 2006.
Thank you to everyone who joined us!
