H is for Horses

    The Native Americans called horses holy dogs because they were not used to horses, they were used to dogs. The dogs were used for a long time until the Spanish brought the horses to North America. The horses were used for carrying the travois. When the Plains children were 3-5 years old they had to learn how to ride horses.
