PLANETS KEEP MOVING AROUND THE SUN
Science Standard 3.1
Recognize that the Earth and other planets in the solar system revolve around the sun.
An experiment called "On the Move" from Janice VanCleave's Astronomy For Every Kid published by John Wiley, copyright 1991, shows children that friction acts upon a moving object to slow it down. A discussion following the experiment will help children understand that friction does not act upon the movement of the planets.
