THE SUN HEATS PLANETS

Science Standard 3.2

    Recognize that the sun is a star that gives off light, heat, and other kinds of energy.

An experiment called "Too Close" in Janice VanCleave's Astronomy For Every Kid published by John Wiley and Sons, Copyright 1999 shows that the distance from a heat source changes the temperature.

   Assignment

    1.  Students may use the linked page, Science Journal:  The Sun Provides Planets with Light and Heat Energy, to record what they have learned.
