
This is a listing of all the standards that can be met using this website. There are only two assessment rubrics, one for the student research project content and one for the HyperStudio technology. See the bottom of the page for link to these rubrics.
Vermont Standard 7.15 The Universe, Earth, and Environment
Students demonstrate understanding of the earth and its environment, the solar system and the universe in terms of the systems that characterize them, the forces that affect and shape them over time, and the theories that currently explain their evolution.
South Burlington Learning Expectations
Students will recognize that the Earth and other planets in the solar system revolve around the sun.
Students will recognize that the sun is a star that gives off light, heat, and other kinds of energy.
Students will demonstrate how rotation of the earth determines night and day.
Students will demonstrate how revolution of the earth around the sun and its tilt determines seasons.
Student will identify gravity as the main force that keeps the planets and their moons in orbit.
Students will identify and describe the characteristics of the nine planets and their distances from the sun. They will compare the characteristics with the Earth and its atmosphere.
Students will recognize that the moon, a natural satellite of the earth, revolves around Earth and that other planets have moons.
Students will recognize that the moon has a gravitational influence on Earth that causes tides.
Vermont Standard 7.4 History of Science, Math, and Technology
Students understand the history of science, mathematics, and technology.

Students investigate related theories, scientists, and history. (i.e. Copernicus, Mae Jemison)
Vermont Standard 1.18 Information Technology
Students use computers, telecommunications, and other tools of technology to research, to gather information and ideas, and to represent information and ideas accurately and appropriately.
Vermont Standard 1.19 Research
Students use organizational systems to obtain information from various sources (including libraries and the Internet)

Students use the Internet to collect information.
Students create multimedia projects to present information across the curriculum (HyperStudio Stack)
Vermont Standard 1.20 Communication of Data
Students use graphs, charts, and other visual presentations to communicate data accurately and appropriately.
