In our space unit, we cover the following concepts.  Have fun visiting the related sites to learn more!

South Burlington School District Learning Expectations:

• Identify our solar system as part of a larger system called a galaxy, the Milky Way
• State that there are different forms of galaxies (elliptical and spiral)
• Recognize that galaxies are made up of many types of stars
• Identify the Milky Way as a spiral galaxy
• Create a model of a galaxy and label its types
• Recognize that stars change size and color and go through a "Life cycle"
• Identify constellations in our night sky
