Galileo Galilei was born in Pisa, Italy February fifteenth 1564. Galileo was a famous scientist. The astronomical discoveries he made were described in a book named “Message From The Stars”. Published in Venice in May of 1610. It caused a sensation. Galileo claimed to have seen mountains on the moon, to have proved the Milky Way was made up of tiny little stars, and to have seen four petite bodies orbiting Jupiter. Galileo spent the last decade of his life under house arrest. I think this might of been because people thought his ideas were lies and they were ridiculously stupid. He was still able to teach, carry on his research, make instruments, and more. Galileo died outside of Florence on the eighth of January 1642. Galileo was 78 years old when he died. I think his discoveries made it easier for later scientists to have their work accepted by fellow scientists.
