Lemmings
Lemmings are small plant eating animals. In the winter they live in burrows in the snow and feed on plants that grow up through the soil. Some of their enemies, like the arctic fox, can smell them even when they are out of sight in their burrows. The fox will rise up on his hind legs and then crash down, front paws first, to get into the burrow.
Special fact: Lemmings can give birth to up to eight babies every five weeks.
